Called to Serve | Llamado para servir

En Español: Más abajo

The leaves are finally changing colors. The air has gotten cooler. This can only mean one thing. Summer is gone and Fall has arrived.

One season has ended so a new one may begin. And thats how life works. Each stage in our life must end so that we may enter new stages. But one thing that never changes; one thing that we are born with; one thing that is irrevocable is purpose.

The means to fulfill our purpose is different according to each individual. But we are all called to serve. Called to serve our God. Called to serve others that they may know the love of God. We were made with purpose and its important that we allow God to show us how to fulfill it.

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to meet and sit one-on-one with Ingrid Rosario. A Christian Artist signed to Intregity Music Latin with an amazing talent and annointing. I was simply blown away by her amazing voice and the presence she brought to the room. The favor of God was over her and His spirit simply filled the place. It made me realize something right away. It is nearly impossible to encompass all that talent and annointing into one little disc. Its a greater blessing to receive their impartation of God's love during a live concert.

So, I was honored to have the opportunity to speak to her and receive her words of wisdom. I thought I might share what we spoke about so that perhaps some of you that are looking to activate your ministry may be inspired!

The first question I asked her was, what words of advice could she give me as a new artist starting her music ministry. She went on to tell me that you have to know that you were called for this. You can't enter something without knowing that this is where God is leading you. She said she clearly sees my passion and my certainty that I knew I was called for this and thats a step in the right direction. She encouraged me to give my all and give everything to the Lord so that He can take my ministry to where He desires. One thing she said was that she doesn't do anything to provokes the people to worship because God's spirit moves on His own so that by the time she gets to the stage, everyone has already found the presence of God. She was very inspirational and I admire that about her.

One thing not so directed to my music but to family. She said, do not wait so long to have children. I will definitely keep that in mind! haha

It was a blessing to hear those words of wisdom from a successful worshipper. I know God is in this!

"Listen to advice and accept instruction, and at the end you will be counted among the wise. Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails." -Proverbs 19:20-21

Llamados a servir a nuestro Dios.

-Proverbios 19:20-21

Jesus is My Hero!

My single has finally been released to the public and the love and support of those who have heared it so far has been overwhelming. The day I released the single I was promoting it on Radio Redentor in Holyoke, MA in which I ministered in their outdoor service right after. Then on Monday I continued to promote my single on Radio Renovacion CRR. My new friend Ronnie Berrios interviewed me. I can tell you I was very nervous about speaking on the radio because its definitely a new experience. I've spoken on radios before but never about myself! And when I get nervous words just don't come out the way I want them to ha! Its very different from when I am holding a mic and ministering with song. But a new experience no matter how poor or well you think you do, is always an opportunity to learn! The interview on Radio Renovacion CRR will air for the following 3-4 Wednesdays at noon!

One of the questions Ronnie asked me was what inspired the song Verdadero Heroe. As some of you may know, I've written all the songs on my album, all but one. I've been writing since I was 8 years old, writing short stories and poems, publishing my first poem at the age of 10! I had a very creative mind at a very young age and loved to write in journals. I know this caused me to develop my writing abilities and creativity. I thank God for that. At 17 years old I learned to play the piano, well sort of HA! But I could get out an audible tune to put a song together. I wrote my first song with lyrics and melody arrangement at 17 and continued to write songs every since. Saturday mornings were my favorites times to sit on my big brown upright pianoforte and bang out tunes. Everyone in the neighborhood could hear me playing and singing!

I remember when I first came up with the concept "Amigo Invisible, Heroe Invencible". I was in my bedroom and all these thoughts came to mind. I began to think of all those awful things on the news that were occuring. I began to think of the war in the middle-east. I thought of all these movies that potrayed these supernatural heros that would save the world from doom and how fascinating it would be if it were real. And the only thing I could think of is how this world really needs a Hero. And there are your everyday heros, the soldier that fights for his country, the mother that survived cancer. Their are many people that are considered Heros in their times. But who can save us from ourselves? The government can't save us, one human man can't save us. If people could only understand that the only thing that can save us... is God...

If we take God out of our schools, our government, our hopes and dreams, where does God stand. Nowhere? And yet people blame God when the world is collapsing. People have lost faith because they choose not to believe in this God they cannot see. But is not faith the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. He is our invisible friend, and although I cannot see Him, I feel Him in my Heart. I made the choice to believe!

I remember as a child I use to dream of having supernatural powers and how I wish I could fly through the clouds like the heros on tv. As an adult I know that with or without powers I am reaching my dreams and God makes that possible. My heart is safe because He is my protector. He has given me the opportunity of salvation because Jesus came and paid the ultimate price. Not only did He save my life, but He saved the entire world from generation to generation for thousands of years to come till His return. He saved us from ourselves! Who else can do that? And you know what His super power was? Forgiveness... On the cross he showed the power of the Ultimate Hero!!

And all I can sing is:

- Though the world denys you, I will never leave you, because in You I found someone to believe! -

- I don't know what tomorrow may bring, but I know you are the safe-keeper of my tomorrow. -

The lyrics to these songs were words that God put directly in my heart. I pray that each of you received a special blessing from the Lord through this song.

May today you find your Hero in Christ!

with much love! xoxo

First Blog! | The Year of the Lord's Favor

This is my first blog! Hopefully this can bring some of you in on this new journey with me!

On September 15, I will be releasing my first single of my new album! I am extremely grateful and excited because I know that God has only begun to do His work in me. Every stage in my life is a stepping stone to whats to come next. I know this is another stepping stone and I am looking forward to every new adventure. God has called us each for a purpose. What ever the means are the goal is always the same, to spread the gospel in order to bring God the glory! There is a bible verse that has truly identified what this year has meant to me and for the years to come:

The Year of the Lord's Favor
1The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
    instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
-Isaiah 61:1-3

I pray that you all may be blessed and may God's favor be upon you!
