My single has finally been released to the public and the love and support of those who have heared it so far has been overwhelming. The day I released the single I was promoting it on Radio Redentor in Holyoke, MA in which I ministered in their outdoor service right after. Then on Monday I continued to promote my single on Radio Renovacion CRR. My new friend Ronnie Berrios interviewed me. I can tell you I was very nervous about speaking on the radio because its definitely a new experience. I've spoken on radios before but never about myself! And when I get nervous words just don't come out the way I want them to ha! Its very different from when I am holding a mic and ministering with song. But a new experience no matter how poor or well you think you do, is always an opportunity to learn! The interview on Radio Renovacion CRR will air for the following 3-4 Wednesdays at noon!
One of the questions Ronnie asked me was what inspired the song Verdadero Heroe. As some of you may know, I've written all the songs on my album, all but one. I've been writing since I was 8 years old, writing short stories and poems, publishing my first poem at the age of 10! I had a very creative mind at a very young age and loved to write in journals. I know this caused me to develop my writing abilities and creativity. I thank God for that. At 17 years old I learned to play the piano, well sort of HA! But I could get out an audible tune to put a song together. I wrote my first song with lyrics and melody arrangement at 17 and continued to write songs every since. Saturday mornings were my favorites times to sit on my big brown upright pianoforte and bang out tunes. Everyone in the neighborhood could hear me playing and singing!
I remember when I first came up with the concept "Amigo Invisible, Heroe Invencible". I was in my bedroom and all these thoughts came to mind. I began to think of all those awful things on the news that were occuring. I began to think of the war in the middle-east. I thought of all these movies that potrayed these supernatural heros that would save the world from doom and how fascinating it would be if it were real. And the only thing I could think of is how this world really needs a Hero. And there are your everyday heros, the soldier that fights for his country, the mother that survived cancer. Their are many people that are considered Heros in their times. But who can save us from ourselves? The government can't save us, one human man can't save us. If people could only understand that the only thing that can save us... is God...
If we take God out of our schools, our government, our hopes and dreams, where does God stand. Nowhere? And yet people blame God when the world is collapsing. People have lost faith because they choose not to believe in this God they cannot see. But is not faith the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. He is our invisible friend, and although I cannot see Him, I feel Him in my Heart. I made the choice to believe!
I remember as a child I use to dream of having supernatural powers and how I wish I could fly through the clouds like the heros on tv. As an adult I know that with or without powers I am reaching my dreams and God makes that possible. My heart is safe because He is my protector. He has given me the opportunity of salvation because Jesus came and paid the ultimate price. Not only did He save my life, but He saved the entire world from generation to generation for thousands of years to come till His return. He saved us from ourselves! Who else can do that? And you know what His super power was? Forgiveness... On the cross he showed the power of the Ultimate Hero!!
And all I can sing is:
"El mundo te puede negar, pero nunca te dejara, porque en ti yo encontre, alguien en quien creer!"
- Though the world denys you, I will never leave you, because in You I found someone to believe! -
"No se lo que mañana traera, pero se de que mi mañana guardaras"
- I don't know what tomorrow may bring, but I know you are the safe-keeper of my tomorrow. -
The lyrics to these songs were words that God put directly in my heart. I pray that each of you received a special blessing from the Lord through this song.
